Few will know the name Sid Busby, but many will have heard his playing. For many years Sid, from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was a regular trumpet player with Jack Parnell’s band and has also been musical director of The BBO Big Band which was founded in 1986. The band, like Sid, have stayed true to their ‘local roots’, its name deriving from the counties within which most members live – Bucks, Berks, Oxon.
